St Mary's Parish in Ulverston has just installed an electric vehicle charging point in the church  carpark - the first in the diocese, and possibly the first for parishioners attending church to use in the country. This will be commissioned and formally switched-on on Friday 1st September, the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation.

Welcoming the Stranger - A guide   This intended for churches and other groups to help them find a way to respond positively to the refugee crisis. With easy to read sections and    important factual information the guide busts myths that have grown up to describe this national and global crisis. Importantly the document offers clear guidance and support to help church  communities, and others, offer practical help as they seek to welcome the stranger.  Written by  Liverpool Justice & Peace Commission in conjunction with other church leaders. There has been developed a Lancashire edition which is available at: http://www.cuf.org.uk/refugees-and-asylum-seekers-lancs
